Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of sites can you make?

You name it, and I can probably make it (with the exception of flash sites). I have made everything from static HTML pages, to blogs, to sites that have a custom back-end or Content Management System that meets YOUR needs. If you need me to set up Wordpress on a server, then I can do that. If you need a full Content Mangement System, I can do that too. Have an idea for a cool web application? I can develop it for you! My education as a programmer and problem solver mixed with my experience working both as a freelancer and as a software engineer gives me the skills necessary to make almost any project you throw at me come alive.

How long will it take?

This really depends on the project. It can take anywhere from a few weeks, to a few months. This also depends on how much work I am already working on. Best way to find out is to use the nifty form below to send me a message and I can give you a quote and a time estimate.

Whats your general process?

This depends on the type of site. If it's something completely from scratch, then I usually start with a mock-up design in photoshop. Once you approve this design, I transform it from an image into a valid web page using HTML and CSS. Then depending on the project, I will build a back end, modify an existing framework/CMS, or whatever your project requires. Once it's done, I'll show it to you to sign off on it. This is a pretty general process and can vary from project to project.

Do you support Internet Explorer 6 or below?

I believe that IE 6 should die a fiery death, but I can support it - for an additional fee :)
I do this mostly because IE 6 is a pain in the butt when it comes to getting valid CSS and Javascript to work properly.

What do I need to provide?

Upfront, nothing really. If you need hosting and a domain name, I can provide both for a cost that is separate from the project cost. If you decide to go with hosting through me, then I have built the cost of maintaining the server into your monthly/yearly cost (NOTE: This does not include updating your website 6 months after I complete it. This is to make sure the server doesn't catch fire or go down). Other than hosting and domain names, you are responsible for all content. If you want content or stock images on your site and dont want to provide them, then you will be charged for anything that is not free.

What is needed to get started?

The only thing that I require to get started is a deposit and a signed contract that I provide to all of my clients. The deposit is dependent on the cost and size of the project.
